ADAMS/Tire, a tire/roadway interaction module, extends the standard tiremodel in ADAMS with more sophisticated calculations for lateral force,self-aligning torque, and forces due to obstacles such as potholes.ADAMS/Tire can be used in conjunction with ADAMS for vehicle stabilitystudies; calculation of yaw, pitch, and roll; generation of force andacceleration data for stress and fatigue studies; computation of roadload histories; and calculations of reactive forces due to braking anddrive torques.ADAMS/Tire gives users a simple data input format and the ability tocreate customized libraries of tire properties and road profiles. Inaddition, its open architecture and clear documentation enable users toalter calculation parameters to accommodate proprietary company researchand analysis assumptions.
